Chloe's Mind & Music

About Us

Chloe's Mind & Music Initiative is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that aims to support young people's mental health by funding access to care and using music, community, and shared experiences to open the door to connection and support.

“I’ve been given so many wonderful opportunities… If I can help anyone get through their struggles, it will be the proudest achievement of my career.”Noah Kahan
“I’m not trying to hide from the pain, I understand now that pain isn’t something to hide from, that there’s actually great beauty in moving with it.”Lorde
“No one should have to figure it out alone. We're building something that makes sure they don't have to.”Matthew Childress, Founder

Why we exist

The world lost Chloe Childress in the July 4th Texas floods. Her friends and family carried what she gave them — laughter, loyalty, and a way of making everyone feel like they had her completely in their corner — into a foundation that does the same for young people she never got to meet.

Young people are facing a mental health crisis at exactly the moment they are expected to figure everything out. We fund care. And we use music to open the door: a song, a playlist, or a live show can be where connection begins.

Fund access to care

Therapy and counseling access, crisis and campus resources, family support tools, and scholarships for young people affected by trauma — paid for by what this community raises.

Open the door with music

Music helps people feel what they cannot say. StageDive — our concert community — turns nights out into ways in: shared shows, shared songs, and a community that notices you.

Keep the mission in the room

Every ticket bought through the platform, every benefit show, every post shared keeps youth mental health in front of people — not once a year at a gala, but every night there is live music.

Who answers for it

Every program, partnership and dollar answers to this room. The board serves without compensation, so giving goes to care — not to the table it was decided at.

  • Chairs the board and carries the mission day to day. Sets the standard every decision answers to — that Chloe’s name means real support reaching real kids, measured and published.

  • Senior Vice President of Product at SolarWinds, with product leadership roles across consumer and enterprise software before that. Guides what StageDive builds next — and how community, safety and the mission stay one product.

  • Founder and CEO of Campfire Studios. Producer of 70-plus series and films for Netflix, Hulu and Max, with premieres at Sundance, SXSW and Toronto. Advises on the shows and stories that carry the mission.

  • Executive Director of the Phillips Foundation in Dallas, and a voice in philanthropy for funding that answers to the communities it serves. Advises on how the fund grows and how its impact is measured.

  • North American CEO of Vitol, the global energy and commodities group — joined after 13 years at ExxonMobil. Serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’s Energy Advisory Council.

  • Partner at Trive Capital, the Dallas private equity firm. Advises on the sustaining capital behind the mission’s growth.

  • Associate Vice-President and Dean of Students at UT Austin through April 2026, now a consultant with Lumen Leadership Strategies. Twenty years in student affairs, student conduct and behavioral intervention — stands up the infrastructure that delivers care to the students it is raised for.

  • Trial lawyer and litigation-finance advisor — more than a decade at Yetter Coleman, then Validity Finance and Westfleet Advisors. A voice for the mission’s founding purpose.

  • Chloe’s brother. The family’s seat at the table — a check that everything built in her name stays true to her.
